    IAB's stuck open

So I know my IAB's are stuck open. I was wondering what sort of performance loss I'm having with this problem? I'm fixing it soon enough, but I've been running like this for a while, can any damage occur from it?

Nope, just a loss of lower end torque. No problems though

if you want, you can route that vacuum hose directly to the manifold until you get it fixed

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I see you have a turbo...
I think this situation might actually be beneficial lol.

How's would it be beneficial? If it is then I'll keep it this way, but if I'm losing lower end power then how is it doing any good? You might have a point, I'm just trying to understand

its actually not beneficial since an operating dual runner setup beats losing low end.

Oh, yeah if you're turbo it might be better to keep them open, because it will help maximize airflow. Unless you need torque when the turbos not spooled.

If your turbo doesn't start boosting until around 4700 rpm, then they're limiting you.

In fact, one of these would probably help more.

So since my turbo spools at around 3500prm, you're saying that having the IAB's open isent limiting the performance a whole lot.

iab will just be a restriction in the flow of air. Just leave them off. You have the turbo to cancel out the need for iab.

or you can use this http://www.blacktrax.net/BTP_IMS.html ...it replaces the iab's with a spacer/iab delete

i left mine open when i had it, just lost a little low end torque....but not bad. id say it starts to kick back in about 3300 rpm

i thought it being open was better for the turbo?

Well we re-routed it to a vacuum line and now everything is fine. Went back out tuning tonight and although leaving the IAB's open isent all that bad, it really does make a difference with the low end power and I like it a lot more with it fixed.

is it ran off vacumn or is it on the IAB silionoid? cuase if its vac then once u put throttle it will open defeating the purpose
