    I failed Ca Smog today

I failed at the "fuel cap functional" test.
    What does that mean?

Why didnt you ask the service technician?

It obviously means your Gas cap has something wrong...was this with a CB? or an OBD2 car?

CB7, It was a test only place, they guy told me nothing.
Just offered me brochures of where to go to find resources.
The gas cap I got at autozone a while back when I forgot my gas cap at a gas station.
It's not OEM, dunno if that matters.

i wouldnt trust the reading on those papers. the one that i passed on read 13 while the first run was 15.

so yea, recheck the timing and shit. if nox is still high and consistent on both readings (15/25mph) then it may be the cat.

first off did ur car warm up for 15 minutes driving at least before u went to smog? second, you have to adjust ur timming to spec, those can throw off numbers really quick. third, did you at least change your oil and have a full tank of gas?

that helped me alot, it tells alot about the system. read on that.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I drove the car around all day running errands then hit the smog shop on the way home.
Prior to the smog shop I was on the freeway for a good 15 mins.
                            OIl was swapped last month.
                            I had 1/2 a tank of gas.
                            Adjust timing?
                            You mean valve adjustment?
