    em1 dizzy???

Not sure if it belongs here but I need help...Ok so my Si took a shit and I found the problem, theres no spark.. So I know it's a bad ignitor or coil and module... So my question is if it's my coil that is the problem can it be replaced with a msd external coil since it bypasses the internal coil anyway or do you need the internal coil as well???

dude these dizzy's for em1's are expensive and the dealership sells it by 3 diffrent parts and has to be special ordered total is around $600... I tried to find it aftermarket and autozone the only place I found it and it close to $300 for remanufactured, any suggestions.... Oh and does anyone know if all b-series dizzy parts are interchangeable???

I think any OBD-II B-series distributor will work.

Yep as mentioned you need obd2 B series dizzy if you wanna change it around. You can convert it to external but have you checked other sites (civic specific) they should tell you how to convert.

what sucks is that I have a coil and ignitor from a obd1 b-series dizzy, so that would be a complete waste of time ....

I don't know if that's for yours, but I just searched for civic distributor and got that. Distributor King always has great prices on distributors. Cheapest place I have ever found them, new.

If it's just your coil that's bad, then you can replace it by converting to external.

If you have a manual, find out which wires are the positive and which is the TDC wire. I don't know anything about obd2 systems, so it may be more complicated than that.

Actually the coil and ignitor might be interchangeable. The only reason I said OBD-II dizzys is because the plugs to the harness are different than OBD-I

Other than the plugs obd1 dizzy have the crank angle sensors and all that in the dizzy instead of at the pulley.
