TCU Codes? HELP!

Hello- I am a newbie here and having difficulty with a search.
I need to find the thread detailing what the flashing light codes on the TCU mean.

In case my problem sounds familair, I have an "S" light that goes on and off randomly. While the light is on, my car is stuck in one gear, unless I shift manually. Real PITA.

ok i am replying to ur request from HONda tech.
first man check the codes. and then we can go from there.
here is how a selenoid looks like


there are two sets of them. the onther one is lower.
if the tmc codes says its them then just get them out and clean them and put them back. but first get the codes because removing the selenoids will be a little time consuming.

I was getting all kinds of wierd TCU codes, was coming back as a bad TCU, in the end it was just bad fluid in the Tranny, did a flush (easier than changing your cars oil) and that fixed my problems, and others, it's easier than your alternatives (those solenoids run atleast $200+ EA.)

i know this post is a little old, but my "S" (sport) light blinks every once and a while. when you jump my car for trouble shooting codes (when my check engine light comes on) my s light will blink four times then pause and do it again. is this the same problem you guys had?

you probably have code 14...

long blink is 10 then add whatever comes next..so in ur case...
bliiiiiiiiiink. blink blink blink blink

no i don't think there is a long blink, it just blinks 4 times then stops for a sec then 4 times again. but i could be wrong. anyway does anyone have that happen to them?

I sorta have the same problem, Just on my automatic, the Sports Mode light flashely continually no Pause, and I've been told pull codes form TCU, well I pulled up carpet, watch it it was bliiiiiiink blink blink ( 12 ) so looked in manual no 12, so I did it again today, I got bliiiink blink ( 11 ) , well thres no 11, so I cheked what 12 is, EGR valve, I pulled these codes from the TCU directly not the "Check Engine" light flashes, ot the "D4 Light FLashes", neither the Engine Light or D4 flash when I do the connector thing with a paperclip. So I swapped out to another TCU didnt mess with ECU, I think the TCU and ECU had a conflict, becuase It was "stock" in D4 and D2, I had to drive it like a stick but the S light stayed solid, so anyway, I have no "real problems" are far as I can tell. but the flashing S gets annoying, anyone got any suggestions/hints?

i see whats your saying. i have that problem too. the sport like in my automatic will blink at a random time while im driving and just blink until i shut my engine off. i also have a bad vss so when my vss starts up (meaning doesn't work) a few seconds then my s light will start blinking. so my speedometer flippin out and my s light blinks forever , so i just wait until im at a light or something and drop it into neutral and shut off my car and turn it back on because its annoying plus im not sure what speed im going.

Well the thing with mine is, my speedometer doesnt do anythig stupid or anything like that Most of the people say VSS but my speedometer doesnt do anythign stupid I wish I had it fixed though because its a PITA to drive at night and have a constant flashing green light in your face... also when I turn the car off and back on, the S still blinks

anyone else got some ideas as what to try?

when i picked up my baby it had a TCU problem as well...the S light stayed on...and the car stared in thrid (auto) unless you manualy set the gear to D1 or D2...the owner took the car to some honda dealer and the replaced the TCU ($300) and all problems went away. That's, unfortuantly, all i can say.

I have 2 TCU's and 2 ECUS , but anyway, when I put the other in my car, the tranny was stuckin 2nd and 4th , but I put back in my old one, no shifting problem, BUT the S light flashes and no Speedometer problems ..

I got the same problem as many...ill be driving an my MPH will die. a few seconds later the S light will start blinking..no pauses..just contiusly untill i turn my car off...i have a 91 Accord and dont know realy much at all...but if you can help, please do! thanks

noob please look at the solenoid clean it then see if your problem is fixed
