My 90 has 115k on it, and this is going to be the 7th time that I have had to replace the CV halfshaft's on my car. I bought the ones from Autozone that have a lifetime warrenty on them, so it doesnt cost me anything on parts and I always replace both at the same time. When I go around corners I get a clicking on the left or right side (this time it is the left side). Is there a reason that these are going bad so fast? Should I just leave it making noise and not worry about it?

Maybe they are just bad axles that autozone makes. But here is what I would do, Get the replacement set and before you install it take the clamp that holds the boot on the axles off and stuff in there with high speed grease. Maybe they just arent greased from the factory and causing premature wear.

are you talking about axles or the half shaft? half shaft is the part that goes under the oil filter. axles are usually the ones that go bad, boots tear, and are replaced.
if they are the axles then only 3/10 axles are good after being remanufactured. why do you think they are lifetime warrantied? that means they go bad all the time. i replace mine once a year especially being slammed to the floor. autozone axles are ok to run but that's normal to have them wear out fast. remember 3/10 are good. keep changing until you fall under that top 3. good luck!Comment
