    Brake system problem

About 3 months ago I changed wheel bearings, calipers, rotors and brakes. Now recently I have been having a problem with my brakes. I noticed the brake light kept coming on in my car and at first I thought my e-brake switch went bad. Then I looked under the hood and noticed that the fluid was almost gone after it was full a few days earlier. And Im having the same problem about every 1 to 2 weeks. I read threads on symptoms and diagnosis but i wanna be sure on what it is. I think it might be the MS. Any thoughts?

Your fluid level drop any? Make sure everything is tightened properly.

i have the same problem which made me assume it was a leaky master cylinder or brake booster but mine was traced to a leaky wheel cylinder in the passenger side drum.

prior to my wreck my fluid drop was constant as well . Do calipers leak ?

wheel cylinders look like little metal and rubber drums. Hence it is used on drum-brake set ups.

Just be methodical about it. Take the wheels off and look for any signs of leaking around the calipers. If so its the caliper piston seals. Then check all the joints from hard lines to soft lines. Then check the proportioning valve connections. Then master cylinder brake line connections. Then where the master cylinder connects to the booster.

If you're loosing that much fluid, chances are that its going to be fairly obvious when you find it. Just look for missing paint or dirt stuck to the area.

If you can't find it in any of those places then you might be leaking into the booster. Usually this won't be happening without some signs of paint missing on the booster though. Which can be fairly tricky to see sometimes. Just get a torch in there and have a good look.

I see fluid on the ground from the passenger front but its not from the caliper so I gotta find whats going on. The rain drove me in for the night so I'll update tomorrow hopefully.

Check your lines. Get someone in the car with the car jacked up and wheel off and tell them to hit the brake. See if you can trace the leak. Or just look for a wet spot.

Well I found the problem, I need new brake lines. I guess this is an excuse to get steel braided lines .

                      New delima

Now that I have the new hoses in place, I have no pressure in the pedal at all. I noticed that one of the bleeder valves on the refurbished (I did it over tightning the valve) caliper was broken but not leaking. can i use the hose line going into the caliper to bleed the brakes?
