may be the o2 ghost code, but i'd pull it and associate a number with it to KNOW instead of guessing
....and on the 7th day, deevergote rested and called his mom.

hmm..cel comes on randomly but DOESN'T shut off?....my guess is...

      Need a new timing belt..

either that, or you could be having fluid running into your IM (Intake Manifold). Do you have a stock air intake/filter??

      *Needs*
      -New shocks
      -Struts
      -Drop
      -Cleaning
      -New Tires/Wheels
      -New Window Tint
      -Alot more lovin'

the CEL doesnt come on when you need a new timing belt...duno where you got that from.

how bout you check the code instead of making it go away by turning it off.

just cus the light went away, doesnt mean its fixed.

How might you do that? I'm getting the same type of thing on my prelude. A CEL appears, but when I turn the car off to prepare to read it, the code disappears. I've tried 4 different ECU's and they all do the same thing. I've even used a P14 that should throw a knock sensor code and go into limp mode, but it doesn't.

My guess its the O2 sensor, yes that phantom code, I bet its code 43 which is the fuel delivery system

Wire a switch to the plug.

Search for the DIY on checking your CEL. Instead of using a paper clip or w/e, wire a switch directly to it so you can turn it on whenever you need it.

Will the computer show the code with the engine running? I tried it once and didn't get anything out of it.

A knock sensor is a hard code (will/should store it)that will make the computer switch to limp mode, correct?

I dont think a knock sensor would cause the ecu to go into limp mode, but I wouldnt personally know.

Yes, you can read codes while the car is running. I've done it plenty times.

if its code 20 pop the hood check you fuse box there should be a white/yellowish sensor at the bottom right hand corner with 4 wires coming out of it the sensor may be bunt out or corroded you can clean it and if that doesnt work you might have to get another fuse box im not sure but i dont think that the jdm has a ELD in it so it should be fine after you clean it or get another fusebox
