Yes, there is. Make sure all valves on one cylinder are closed, and then, with the head upside down, put a bit of water in the chamber. If it doesn't leak, or only leaks a little tiny bit, the valves are fine.

Turn head upside down, And use Windshield washer fluid to fill the valve dome, Its blue in color so you will see it better than water. And its thinner than water so it will go through any imperfection in the valve area.

every single advice these guys have given you is GREAT....

OR...you could always...like I PMed you earlier about....you could always take the valves OUT of the head..lne them up with valves from a junkyard thats straight...and see if the stem is bent as compared to a straight one!.....but you're overall bet is to do what everyone suggests........OR lay the valve down on its side...and roll it....if you see the stem go up and down while its rolling...its bent!
92 LX. A6 with GUDE bullfrog Cam. M2S4 transmission..Gutted H23 intake mani. The rest you will just have to find out!

windshield washer fluid IS mostly water. molecularly speaking, the difference is nil. MOST brands are 90-97% pure water anyway and the cheap shit from part stores is 99% water
