external dizzy, on an internal coil harness, but want to use msd coil

Yea, it's a fucked up situation. Don't ask.

We have an h23 dizzy(external coil) on an f22b dohc(which is normally internal coiled, but the dizzy was fucked). But, the engine is a 91, which is internally coiled.

Now, we have an msd blaster coil. We're trying to figure out which wires that we gotta splice on the harness(before the dizzy) to get it to work.

I know how to wire it once we get that figured out.

I know one is gona be the black/yellow wire for the +, but can't figure out what the - side is gona be.

On the h23 dizzy, the plug that has 2 wires, one being the black/yellow, has a blue one. Could it be that one?

I've been reading that the one needed for the - is a white/blue wire.

Now, the problem with that is that there are about 4 wires that appear to be white, and only 2 that have blue/white-ish color.

With the clip side up, on the wire side facing you, left to right

    solid white-ish, white-ish/blue, blue/green, yellow/green
    solid white-ish, white-ish/blue, blue/yellow, solid green

now, the top one looks more like peachish, but can't really tell cus they're dirty and we have poor lighting.

I'd refer to my shop manual, but it's no where near me.

I have an f22a internal coiled dizzy next to me for reference.

On it, the solid green wire is not there.

I've been working on the swap for a while now. This is the ONLY thing that is holding it back from starting.

    Ok, listen up noob.

The white/blue wire is the TDC wire, which goes to the "-" side of the coil.

    If it's dirty, clean it.

J/K. This is t3h Jos3r logged onto Alex's screen name.

    Got it figured out.

    Thanks for your help guys!

        lmao.

I'm tired as fuck. Sex deprived, and bored.

I also smell like BO/trans fluid/engine oil, coolant/gas/glass cleaner/carb cleaner. That, plus i have cuts all over I can barely type.

            OK, all is hooked up.
Turns out that on the cars harness, there is only 1 blue/white wire.

Anyways, hooked that up to the - side of the coil, hooked up the black/yellow to the ballast, then to coil.

Still no spark. On top of that, we got a code 15, ignition output signal.

            WTF

The ballast is also extremely hot.
            Yes, it's grounded.

Swapped out the internals from a known working f22a dizzy onto an h23 dizzy housing.

              Still nothing.

              what else could it be?

I got fuel. No more codes.

So the moral of this story goes:

Don't forget the rotor on the dizzy
Don't forget where plug wire no. 1 goes on the dizzy
Don't think that a rotted out ground will be fine.

The car runs like a champ, WITH my chipped p06 and custom map. But that's a whole 'nother thread.
