WTF is that black box called that opens up the sencondaries for the h23 mani? were can i get one ?

the IAB box or intake air bypass box works like this. a vaccum line runs from the back of the intake manifold into the box then out of the box and into the secondary runner diaphram closing the secondary runners in the intake plenum. the box is connected to the ecu via electrical signal and at a certain RPM (5600 i think) the ecu cuts the vaccum source from the box therefore opening the secondary runners and essentially doubling intake flow. let me know if thats to vague.

What if I use the vac line from the front ?the one for the front of the stock intake box

it will work the same i was just saying the back one cuz thats the one that is the OEM location.

you need at least a F22A6 ECU (92-93 EX) to control that box.

but I can use the front one then ?as a temp till i get the acual box ?wat rpm would be ideal for it to open,so I can tell my tuner

Fyi this for a H23 head swap with cams,Tuning starting on tuesday

i believe it opens the butterflies at 4300-4500 when connected via vacuum line only. as for the black box, it may be 4700 or i might be confused that with optimum rpm vtec lvevl

i got a h23 intake for my f22 is this necessary to put on the intake on my car??? i havent put it on yet

nah, it isnt absolutely necessary. just better.
