rear ended a mini van car wont start

So i was on the freeway today and some idiot in a mini van slammed on his brakes and I rear ended him doin like 10-15mph. anyway I hit him and my car instantly shut off, I dont see any wire or anything unplugged but when I try to start the car I dont even get gauge lights, my windows and what not dont work and my alarm isnt working. but my horn is. thought it might have been the battery jumped it and still nothing. so this guy in a del sol pulls over and helps me out he put his key on my starter and it just starts sparking everywhere. so we tried push starting it and it wants to start I can hear it gettin gas and starting for a brief second but it just wont stay started.

    91 EX 4 door
    F22B swap
    5spd

no gauge lights come on, nothing, alarm windows NOTHING is getting power but the battery is brand new help I need to get it off the side of the freeway!!!

Check all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box. also check to be sure there are NO wires touching anything up front of the engine bay.

Someone with a CB7 had someone kill his car while he was at a party. they left him with the front end of his car all bashed up. the rad was pushed into the main power wire that came out of the alternator which in turn kill pretty much everything in the car. the main 80A fuse was blown from that.

a dealer souldnt charge too much for a fuse, you might at least check

it should be a few bucks even from a dealer, autozone will have em too. make sure the battery or alternator wires arent getting crushed or it may just blow again

well i took out the 40amp rear defroster fuse and threw it in there in hopes it would run and drive and it did no problem. so no wires were crushed or anything. tomorrow im going to start taking the front end apart ill take some pics of the damage to show you what doing 10mph and rear ending a minivan with the brakes locked up can do!! its all fixable though not a prob.

Got one for about $3 at AutoZone the other day! And if you want, I bet PepBoys and any other auto store too. Yes it's under the hood. Big fuse box on left as you are looking in from front. It should be the ONLY 80 amp fuse in your car if I'm not mistaken.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to say it. Why do people who tail gate assume you will not stop? In ANY rear end accident, the person who hits a car from behind is at fault ...no if ands or pardon the expression, butts. No matter what you say in court , you will not win. I won a case this way. The law states you must give yourself (the car) enough space or distance to safely stop if needed from the car directly in front of you. Some states use the 4 second rule , and some, a car length per every mph. Any person in my book who sits on the rear of another car to "get them to go faster" is just as stupid as the dunk behind the wheel. So who is the idiot? I hope it's not a driver in a Accord!
