Originally posted by KeelesKustomeok sorry but yes i don't care how hard your tcu tells your tranny to shift it will not do so without the proper splines in the torque converter to do so,,, thats like trying to paddle a boat with a flag pole... thats rediculous... when you have shift kits put in automatics you create more of a curved spline that builds up more pressure to shoot more fluid at once creating a harder shift... ohh and yes i do know what i am speaking of... i worked with a good friends of my father in a transmission shop for almost a year.. and i learned alot more than i should ever need to know.Last edited by NAiL05; 07-05-2007, 12:23 AM.

ok... this probably does not help the situation but...
NEVER EVER neutral drop with an auto tranny. It'll mess up the tranny really bad.
As for the shift kits... listen to Nail05. He's right. The shift kits are just a stiffer spring. So technically you could probably piece together your own shift kit... (anyone up for doing a diy?)
Also auto sticking the tranny is bad too. The valve body can be damaged by the auto sticking. I know with some domestic cars, people place the manual valve body onto the auto trannies so thereby making a sequential tranny thingy. However this is not possible (if it is, it has yet to be done) on hondas.
For daily driving, getting a performance torque converter will def help you get moving. I recommend the one from Level 10 performance. It works well and I love it.my 91 cb7

allows you to change your automatic into a sequential. Have not heard or read any reviews. therefore i'm not sure as to how safe this is.my 91 cb7

lol you are talking about 2 totally different tranny's and even though yes the spring must also be replaced that goes along with the whole shift (kit) i am sorry i just talked about the torque converter... (kit) meaning lots of parts has more than just some extra curved splines as you popinted out... you can trick your solenoids into making the torque converter hold more pressure until it shifts thus causing a higher torque output at once thus creating a slam u in your seat shift."Self Renewed"
