    ^^^bump one more time^^^

I know that h22 and f22 alternators are interchangeable, so I'm thinking about looking for an h22 alternator on eBay as well.

well i found out this yesterday....

i started her up...battery light was on as expected...i popped the hood and wiggled the connection on the side of the alternator by the headers...nothing...then i put pressure pressing the connection DOWN and headlights got brighter and belts sqealed...so im assuming i have a loose connection?

If you pressed down and batt light went away then yes bad connection. Something up with aftermarket allternators that I found out. The cable in our cars dont like to clip onto it unless you apply a shit load of force. I broke mine off lol so its ghetto rigged with a zip tie!!! and it works lol.

what did you do to make it stay plugged in beside the zip tie thing? did you just hammer it in hard to clip?

EDIT!..btw is all the whitish goo inside the connection lubricant or residue??? Cuz im wondering if THIS is why i have bad connection...should i wipe all this gunk out or is it simply lube?

Its grease its supposed to be there to prevent corrosion. Nah i just forced it on, lifted the clip a lil with a small flathead then i heard crack. So I just looped it with a zip tie and it works,.

Lift back the boot cover you should see a lil clip deal. Make sure it goes OVER the hump. Dont overdo it or it will break as I did.

umm...yea i know whatcha mean..i didn't break it though...it's all the way in...connection is tight and all...but i dont really know if it's a loose connection because problem still exists. more help? im thinkin' to just get a whole new alternator..because the connection is all snugly but idk how to say it.

Retest el alternator then lol. Thats the only way. Could be it charges then doesnt charge. It does that with the lil module inside if it decides it wants to go out.

taha that's one way to look at it..just so you wouldn't get all grouchy but instead make yourself laugh or cheer up a lil...hmmm..i should try this prospective most of the time...especially when after fixing one problem and then another situation occurs. Thanks...i guess heh

I'm having the exact same problem with my car. When I rev the car the batt. light comes on. If I put a load on it like A/C, headlights, defrost, etc I can make the light go out for a little while and then it comes on. Right now something is also draining the batt. when parked overnight. So I have to disconnect the batt. everytime I park for long periods of time. Could it be the voltage regulator. At idle the batt. terminals read at 12.4v but when I rev the engine it jumps to about 16v.

Did your problem ever get fixed?
