    After Seafoam MPG decrease dramatically?

OK last oil change i did just the fuel treatment.

Ran better and had more pickup.

Then 2 weeks ago i had the time and place to do it so i did the BBL treatment. I followed a write up on here and added a 1/3rd of the bottle to the line. I tried not to let it stall but it did but it didnt hurt it(at least not that i know) I let it sit for 5 mins and she started right up, a lil hesitant, but she did and she smoked but honestly not that much....a few puffs and that was it.

So ive noticed since then that my MPG has decreased a lot. Before this a half a tank would last me a week or more now it lasts me like 3 or 4 days.

I dont have any leaks lol.

Im thinking maybe some gunk got caught in the injectors?

Maybe i need to finish the process and clean other things such as the fitv or pcv?

    Any help would be appreciated....

next oil change im doing the crankcase treatment!

Ralph my man.....for starters...you were suppose to let it sit for 10-15 minutes...not 5 minutes...you have to let it marinate to clean the intake valves and piston rings...BEWARE: if you have a high mileage engine...CLEANING it with SEAFOAM could harm it...WHY you ask?? because the carbon buildup itself is PROBABLY whats keeping the compression stable and keeping it from having blowby and burning oil...

but you were too anxious on using that seafoam wasn't you?

you have to let it marinate mayne!!! trust me....if thats your first time seafoaming it...it should have been WAY MORE SMOKE than what you stated!

no dude, you aint retarded.......do everything..you already added it to the vacuum line...cool...you already added to the gas ( gas tank )..now its time to add it to the oil!

        it will clear out...trust me!

but yeah...I used a double dose....seafoam and Lucas fuel treatment ( small bottle ) and this baby purrs!!!

thats only the Lucas Oil stablizer....NOT the fuel treatment!

I remember when I used Lucas Oil stabilizer in this thing a while ago...it made it run so much better....but after reading about it...I stopped using it

but yeah..that lucas fuel treatment is some ok stuff

NOW, this ...I want to TEST..and see how well it holds up!

I got something...I was reading....the Seafoam bottle....they say...you can ALSO dump the entire can into the fuel tank! ( 1 pint ) to treat 8-25 gallons....Hmm ..we have 17 gallon tanks...so, I figure...instead of doing the vacuum hose treatment...just dump the entire can into the tank!

thats what Im thinking of doing! ....

NOTE: the can I have is 16 FL OZ / 1 pint ) treats 8-25 gallons...( we have 17 gallon tanks ) SOOOO..just dump the entire can into the tank!.

                        it will:

                        clean injectors
                        clean carbon as you drive
                        lub upper cylinders
                        removes moisture
                        conditions fuel

so....you can't go wrong with doing that route either!

but do clean the intake...you might want to do the brake booster hose treatment ( 1/3 )

if you're engine is OVER 200K BEWARE: use at your own risk...some other cb7 owners MIGHT be lucky...might just be your luck....you use the seafoam...to clean out the carbon inside the intake mani...and such...then you notice...it starts running funny and burning more oil!

like many has stated...that carbon buildup MAY just be whats KEEPING your car running correctly if you have in excess of 180K

so if you're up there in mileage...USE WITH CAUTION....its a 50/50 chance...when you seafoam your engine....you may just UNCOVER other problems that laid dormant for a long time!.

the amount of carbon cleaning wont be as effective unless you are constantly reving the engine up high because it has the run hot.

my friend sprayed a bottle of water while i was reving his camaro from 3.5k to redline. you shoulda seen all the carbon on the floor after the exhaust pipe.
