problems starting car, turns over, starts, then dies

    Hey,

i tried to start my car today and when i turned the key it started and then as soon as i release the key it dies, my brother attempted starting once and he held the key for a bit longer and it stays on a bit longer but then dies when he releases it.

Also my sister was driving it lastnight and she said it died while she was stopped at a set of traffic lights, but she had thought she stalled and didn't think anything of it...Any ideas on what the problem could be?
    Thanks

It could be many things, at first it sounded your key ignition cylinder was broken but if you said your sis drove and though she stalled then it could be something like dizzy, i could be wronge tho. Any other things that you could tell us to help diagnose the prob?
