    no VTEC

okay so i had a CEL for the VTEC pressure sensor. i replaced it with a new one, redid the wiring because it was shitty and it still doesnt engage. i dont have a CEL and the switch is grounded, any ideas?

    1. Engine must be up to operating temp.
    2. OIl level must be enough.
    3. VTEC doesnt work in neutral.
    4. Engages above 10mph or some crap like that.

If wiring is all good and oil is normal. Maybe try out a new solenoid if you can get a hold of one. Thats just a thought. I have this problem on my CRX and I have the CEL code for VTEC.....I'm thinking of replacing the ecu on mine, but that shouldn't be necessary in your case.

If you can get your hands on a spare ECU that wouldn't be a bad idea. Just troubleshoot and if VTEC doesn't engage on the new ECU you can rule out a faulty ECU.

are you sure that you have the wires to the correct pin position on the ecu plugs?? since you did the wiring over again... just a thought. double check that.

Thats what I am doing, I am replacing the stock PR3 ECU on my CRX and getting an upgraded Spoon PR3 ECU (OBD0). Did your car go into limp mode recently, happened to me so my soulution was to go with a new ECU and go from there.
