Ok so i installed one of these and gave it its own o2 sensor. A 1 wire sensor on the top piece of my header. Is it supposed to just from lean to rich all the time or should it more smoothly transition. Its very erratic. Any ideas?

You want the wideband between the collector and catalytic converter. That is where you will get the most accurate readings. Putting them on just one tube on the header isnt going to cut it. By the sound of it you just got one of those LED gauges not a real WB.

Any nut that fits on the o2 sensor should work...but dont quote me. There was a guy on honda-tech selling the actual nuts, but I thought that was a little outrageous.

it will go back and forth when you are in closed loop, since the ECU is always adjusting. It should be fairly stationary in open loop (e.g. WOT)
