blue smoke?

ok i have a 93 accord lx sedan, im driving down the freewAY doing bout 65mph and all of a sudden a whole BUNCH of blue smoke starts coming from my tailpipe, so bad cars cant even drive behind me!
no load noises, no engine noises,expect my check engine light came on, i check fluids and what not and their all good

what usually is blue smoke?

well after searching i saw something about thicker oil or baby an engine seal that blew because of high pressure, dunno what do yall think? thanks

check your CEL first things first...

rings maybe? headgasket? lots of blue smoke is bad

Compression test it.

might be your spark plug tube seals..or Valve seals! ...or as stated...rings or headgasket!...BUT more than likely..its a seal..check your CEL codes...to see what went wrong elsewhere!

blue smoke means ...you're burning oil! ( seals.and/or headgasket )

white smoke means..you're buring water!..( coolant/headgasket)

black smoke means..you're running rich in your fuel/air mixture..HENCE..FAST deposits of carbon buildup...( look at tailpipe end...does it have black soot on the inside of your tailpipe? )

go and get some seafoam..and clean out your intake manifold..( as a added maintainence ) "brake booster line"


but check whats going on with the CEL

ok so my boy gets to my house and I look at his car and besides the blue smoke its fine, so i check the oil dipstick and its WAY high, he said he check it and it was low so he added 3 QUARTS all at once, so i pull his plugs and there dripping with oil so a long story short we drained the oil cleaned the plugs and hope he was lucky enough not to have blown the seals and he was dont know how much longer they will last but after driving it for a couple of miles on the freeway all the excess oil burned off and like magic no more blue smoke,

so I want to say thanks to everyone for helping me out with the problem!!!

oh yeah it wasnt a trouble code when he got to my house he said to me just the oil light kept blinking, he said he was good driving until he got on the freeway and looked back and couldnt see any cars only there headlights lol

once again thanks everyone! i learned a lot through this experience and thats what its all about!!!
