    Main Relay Harness

    Ok...my girl's CB7 wouldn't start...NO FUEL...

    I assumed it was the MFR...

    so I took hers out...because I thought it would be an easy fix...you know..I got spares..

    but apparently

    the spares I have ...is from an EX..and hers is a LX

    harness dont match up to the EX MFR

    I just found this out about 2 hours ago!

    so, now I have to hit up the junkyard ..and HOPE I can find a MFR for an LX

    question is..

    which harnesses are the same...

    1990/91 and 1992-93 LXs??

    or is there any significant difference?

    between the years.

    UPDATE:

    here are some pics of the MAIN FUEL RELAY ..I took out

    from the way the board looks..you think its FRIED??

    Why dont you just resolder the LX relay? I would assume its the same deal with the EX.

        You sure? How do you see the cracks lol they arent visible well most of the time at least. I couldnt see mine on my ex and it was wore out because of the symptoms. They looked fine but I still added solder on there and after that it still works till this day. So it doesnt hurt to try.

          Well..I just added some pics.....tell me what you think ..is it salvagable...or do I need a new MFR?

            The flat ones and somewhat rounded one definitely need to be soldered up. I put a pretty good layer on mine lol still holdin up.

                Ok..resoldered it.....reinstalled it..and NOTHING!...NO START!

                no noise from the Fuel pump...

                Im really starting to think the Fuel pump is out!

                I banged on the fuel tank...to at least Jar it enough to see if it would kick some voltage out and prime....and NOTHING..

                I will check tomorrow....


                NOTE: this is for the NO START

                ( if theres Voltage from the MFR to the pump...the pump is bad...NOW..if theres NO voltage from the MFR to the pump..its either the MFR or a short somewhere in the wiring! )

                its 1:21am..and Im getting tired..so I will keep everyone informed on this!

                  Ill see what I can think of. You tested all the wires too right? The wires on the harness. I dunno which pins you can jump on the MFR to bypass it and see if it will start.

                    hey, my main relay looks like that, i think thats why my car wont be starting sometimes....but make sure u get the OEM Fuel Pump from Honda! dont get those cheap aftermarket ones, i learned the hard way

                      At least you have the correct one. I bought a CB7 for my son (91 coupe) and it doesn't start I'm hoping because the relay is for a Civic (RZ0132) when it should be RZ- 0088. Dammed if any knows how that happened? Hope that the relay for yours kicks in and it's not the fuel pump. Hope for me too.

                        ( Yawn ) its 9:44 am..just woke up...Imma let my girl take my CB7 to work

                        so I can figure out WHAT and WHY her CB7 isn't getting fuel!

                        imma use a jumper to eliminate the MFR....( IF ) the pump primes and it car starts...theres something either wrong with the MFR internally...or theres a break in one of the harness wires...

                        now..if it doesn't prime..then its the pump..

                        wish me luck people...pray that its not the pump! ( them fuckers are EXPENSIVE )



                        but yeah ( silvershadow )...I hope you get your coupe running! and I hope I get hers running TODAY!

                          NELSON....( Nail05 )...Yo...I put on some reading glasses..and looked real closely...

                          and I found some VERY SMALL hairline cracks in 3 of the solders...

                          so I resoldered it AGAIN...this time..I resoldered ALL of em ...and I double checked my solder...

                          ANYONE with good soldering skills...tell me what you think?



                          ANYHOO, reinstalled the MFR...and STARTED RIGHT UP after the pump kicked on!

                            Good to hear. I thought you resoldered all of them when you had them off lol. Usually thats what I assume but glad to see you fixed it.

                              nah..the first time...I just resoldered the ones I thought needed it...but come to find out..the ones that I neglected...had hairline cracks in it, but thanks for your help..

                              You and a close friend of mine helped me last night!

                              but this morning..I took a closer look at that relay..and BINGO...3 of em had cracks!

                              so I just went over ALL of em...reinstalled..and VROOM!
