I installed my boost gauge yesterday and left my interior in shambles as it was pretty cold last night and decided to finish it this morning.
So, i get it in, everything is good, and i decide that I'm going to go for a drive, since im in the break-in period for my clutch.
It starts.
I kill it quickly because i just wanted to be sure it started.
I wait a little bit, start cleaning up, get ready to drive.
Car turns over, wont start.
Starts for 2 seconds, dies.
Car turns over, wont start.
Car turns over, wont start.
Fudge.
I search the great cb7tuner for the problem and the solution.
It appears to me that its the distributor or the igniter.
Im prepared to go buy one or the other in an attempt to drive my car(60 and 150 bucks respectively)
Idea!
Check the spark plugs(skinnye's idea)
Fouled plugs!
At least, thats what we hope, and i didnt think it could be the plugs because i got new ones 2 weeks ago.
Running rich, incredibly rich, killed my plugs, they were completely black on the top and stunk of gas.
10 bucks and a trip to the store later.
Good to go, plugs fix the problem and the car starts and runs again.
Woot.
Just thought i would share my story because most people assume its something big when the car wont start, but for me, it was a 10 dollar fix, not a $150 one.
