ok I'm leaking oil from somewhere down by the drivers side front wheel. I've been told that its the balance shaft seal but any suggestions on how i can stop it, or what it might be other than the balance shaft based on prior expierence.

Sounds like the front balance shaft seal came out of the block. Is it a normal leak? Or is it more like a fountain? Is it comming from behind the cam/timing belt cover?
Based on prior experience...its the front balance shaft seal. Especially if you answered yes to one of my last two questions.Opal Metallic Green '92 LX 2dr manual, 181k miles, '94 prelude VTEC wheels for summer (steelies with snow tires for winter), Omni-power struts/springs, and other junk

Ok, at least its not pissing it out.
So its a leaking seal or oil pan gasket. And both meet at about the same spot, so it might be hard to tell which it is.
I can think of a couple things:
1) Torque all the oil pan bolts. Or at least make sure they're tight, just don't overdo it.
2) Remove the cam cover and check for oil inside the cover and especially on the timing belt. I have a feel the valve cover needs to come off to remove the cam cover, can't remember.Opal Metallic Green '92 LX 2dr manual, 181k miles, '94 prelude VTEC wheels for summer (steelies with snow tires for winter), Omni-power struts/springs, and other junk

just follow the trail of oil and try to pin point where its coming from...and if u did the valve cover then u probably didnt put it on right on one side or what not...just try to trace it!Project M3 - http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=157903
