    Power Window Trouble

The problem is the driverside power window of my coupe. On a normal day I'll hit the button and it'll go down about 3-4 inches before it strains and stops. If I help it out, using all of my strength, it'll go down. It works perfectly on the way up. I used silicone spray and got it all lubed up nice but that didn't help at all.

Now the thing that has me scratching my head is that when it rains, the window will go down perfectly. Even after washing my car, it'll work flawlessly. So obviously, the moisture is effecting my window.

Anyone have the same problem, or more importantly, know how to fix it?

try replacing the window run channel first (the rubber molding that guides the window down).

Lube the channel see if that helps. Lithium grease works wonders. Lubing up the motor also helps.

Be careful of that lube! If you have tinted windows it may make them peel. Also, if you hear cracking, then it's time to replace the window regulator/motor since the wire that gets pulled has broken the plastic guides it travels on ( Think of a ten speed bike and the metal break wire. Then imagine the holders all broke. The wire would go all over your bike...same thing on your regulator)
