My Cat Fell Off Yesterday So I Am Gonna Do A Full Exaust System But I Was Wondering What The Pros And Cons Of Just Straight Piping The Whole Thing From The Flex Back(without The Cat And Resenator) as a posed to a high flow cat
I Am Also Wondering What Size Pipe Would Be Best For My Car
(i Am Planning To Make Whole Thing With A Pipe Bender And Some Pipe)
    Right Now I Have A Stock H22

If you are trying to be as un-restrictive as possible, my advice would be to run 2.5" piping with no cat.

In my personal experience, low end torque is sacrificed a little bit when running no cat, but the engine breathes a lot more freely at mid range to higher rpms, yeilding more power.

Also, include a reasonably sized resonator and a good quality muffler if you want your custom setup to sound good and not obnoxiously loud.

Search around the site as well. A lot of members are running H22s with custom exhausts that perform well and sound really good.

You loose a slight bit or torque downlow, but gain some upperend power. You will be raspy though unless you get a big ol resonator installed.

        1. Low end blows as mentioned kinda
        2. 10X louder
        3. Rasp also mentioned
        4. Depending on diameter and how low your car is scraped exhaust ftw
        5. Car wont pass emissions
        6. Atract more attention than wanted

uhhh not at all, my shit sounds grand i have a custom exhuast headerback no cat 18 resonator and muffler. a larger muffler has mostly to do ith the loudness. resonator takes care of the rasp. also i dont feel any low end lost, but then again, im running 2.25 instead of 2.5 and i need another resonatr because itts still got a little rasp. but other than that it sounds fine. im happy thiers no cat, top end is amzing!

yeah as stated, itll be loud as hell, and ull lose some low end since ur losing some back pressure. however ur top end should be better. id take my cat out but my whips waaaaaaaay too loud as it is, im to scared to take my cat out the popo in my town would butt rape me for it...

Why are people still talking about backpressure?!?!?!!

The difference in power gain is so minute that its not worth polluting for a mere 1-3hp. A properly sized hi flow cat can be just as good as a test pipe.

So we'll lose a lil of torque but we get more power? By power, what do you mean? cuz im thinkin torque IS power, isnt it? (PM me)

I wasn't very clear with that statement. By power, I meant a combination of both hp and torque.

Remember, a torque is not sacrificed over the entire rpm range, just on the low end. There will be hp/torque gain in the power band, even if it's a small one.

2.5, and two resonators. Click my sig you can hear my exhaust. 2.5" piping dual resonators stock cat. Plan to adjust that in the future to a carsound high flow cat whenever I get the chance.
