Water Temp Guage

This has to do somewhat with cb7's but not quite, my friend has a 1998 Honda Civic, he has the water temp guage but the sensor is no good.Is there a way to hook it up to the ECU? I was thinking of connecting it to one of the wires on the stock sensor.So is there a way to do this?Thanks

you're talking about an aftermarket temp gauge, right?

you have to change the stock sensor for the ecu to operate properly. you cannot hook it up to the ecu if the ecu dosent have any signals from the sensor. there are to sensors, one on the outlet tube on the cylinder head, and one by the thermo. the one by the thermo you want to use.
