    Does torque wrench matter?

I was going to change my lower tube seals under rocker arm, but I dont have a torque wrench. I was hoping that I could do it without one and guesstimate how much to tighten the bolts. Will this be very bad for my car. Or is oil in sparkplugs worse.

You either do it properly with a torque wrench which can be had for under $30 or you dont do it. End discussion here.

you run the risk of overtightening or undertightening. which can result in breaking bolts and having things come apart. later.

Good call, especially here. You'll have to take the rocker assembly off to change the spark plug seals. When you put the rockers back on, there is a specific order you tighten the bolts and, of course, you have to tighten them to a specific place.

Also it's easy to break the acorn nuts on top of the valve cover. They only get something like 8-10 lbs/ft.

Waiting 'til Friday is a good idea.

You can't pass inspection w/ leaking lower spark plug tube seals?! Def. get the torque wrench, the rocker assy. bolts on in a sequence w/ proper torque specs!

Yea oil is in the sparkplugs, and I am misfiring, mechanic said I was dumping extra gas out my tailpipe thats not getting properly burned. I have already read up on the process printed off forums and read my haynes so I should be ok when a get a torque. I just dont know anything about timing.

If you have extra gas in the exhaust that isn't igniting I wouldn't be surprised at all if you backfired and shot flames every once and a while. I know mine did for a bit.

Well I hope fire is not coming out, It is hard enough to keep the cops off my butt in a older honda with out of date tags.
