    wierd electrical problem...

so i start the car up in the morning and let it wram up for 10 munites.get in drive down the road i notice lights are dim.then tach and speedo go dead.soon my radio shuts off and wipers are barely moving.i shut the car off and try to start it back up no crank what so ever.give it 15 seconds cranks right up.barely make it to school all of the electricals barely gettin enough juice to function.park it get off school thinking i'm gonna need a jump (thought it was an altenator at this point.)starts right up everything works till i get home.i couldnt take it to work so i can test the alty on the vat40 so i hook up the dmm and see its only pushin out 8 volts when all the electricals are powered up.at this point i'm like alrite i just need the car tonite and this altenator has 10k on it and its a reman so i thought it shit the bed.replaced the altenator pushing 11.2 volts min.

go to a meeting same shit happens.if i turn the car off it will not start unless after a while.the car also feels weak.

i'm thinking main relay but none of the symptoms i read in the archives match up.it sucks its my daily and i get no time to work on it.i think now its completely dead it barely got me home it starting bucking real bad as soon as i pulled in my street.

I'd be also looking at a Dead Battery. Possible one of the Cells has sulphated and died. The Alternator is trying to charge the battery but it is not accepting or holding the charge.
A Flat Battery will give you false Charge Rate Readings.
Also check all your main Battery Wiring & Grounds for Security and cleanliness.
      Cheers

Yes. And lower voltage could be causing weak spark and lazy injectors, as far as my knowlege tells me.

do this .Start your car and let it idle. Take a multimeter, turn it to direct current volts.Stick the red on the pos and the black on the neg battery terminals. Its should read 12-14volts. Any less and your alt is not charging properly. any more you are overcharing. If you get a low reading Start with your battery, then your battery connections.Fuses. If that checks out, move on to your alternator connections. should be tight and clean. After that, check your alternator/ac drive belt tension. At the most it should only be a 1/2 of play up and down. if all that checks out, then it is more than likely that you are drawing power somewhere or you have a short in your alt wiring. If you have an aftermarket stereo, take the face off and retest your charging system.Let us know.

I'm heating up the garage so i can change it.

I went through the same thing when it first got cold it was the alt. I changed the battery 1st. because autozone said the alt. was ok but I changed the alt. next and no problems other than a loud high pitched noise when I 1st start then it goes away.
