when i did my h22a swap i had no p/s it was a bitch to park but got use to it after a while and then i put the p/s back in and now its harder to handle when i put the peddle to the floor wants to go side to side....kinda sucks now wish i could take it back out. but to lazy... lol
and no a/c that sucks even more

Do the ghetto loop, Pull off the belt and remove the pump =D. Just take the line from the bump and connect to the exit line out of the pump with a hose clamp. Cheap and easy lol.

Look where hes located at. In the north A/C isnt really a required thing they dont get as hot as the south.

Are you kidding me summer in NY is crazy it may not go into the 100's like in the south but 80 and 90 degree heat compared with extremely high humidity is worse

well winter up here is harsh. i live in the northern part of the state by the mountains so i get most if not all of the colder weather. its ok tho.

the summer isnt all that bad. i can just cruise with my windows cracked so theres no worries about A/C. i may end up doing this in the next month or so.

when i go to get the belt what model do i ask for tho? isnt it the dx? w/o a/c and p/s?

ok, heres my .02 both the AC and PS are obvyosly belt driven from the crank and anything that is belt driven robs power, no matter how you look at it (one of the reason turbo's are usually prefered over superchargers ... anyhow) With me, i ditched the AC, because if it gets hot, i roll down the windows haha ... as far as power steering goes if you dont mind the harsh parking then do it.. its all up to you, if the added extra hp's are worth the hastle then do it... if not, then dont do it... but either way you look at it you will gain a little extra hp, because thats less power you rotating assembly is usuing to make the AC and PS work...not to mention the weight both the AC compressor/condensor and tubes weigh ALOT and the PS steering pump isnt all that light. (another thing to consider is if you ever sell the car ... and you dont have PS ... good luck with that)

thanx for that man. really informative. i dont plan on selling the car. ill be keeping the car unless it gives up on me. lol. but im sure i can keep that from happening if i swap the motor out.

im glad you told me that stuff. i totally forgot about the HP robbing effects of stuff on the crank. glad i know this now. i think my P/S pump is about to go out anyway. and since one of yall said all i have to do when it rains is turn on the vent(not recycle) then ill be ok with that.

now...all thats left is for me to get my lazy butt up and do it. lmao

Yea just ask for the dx without AC. The PS doesnt really matter since its a separate belt. If you remove all the AC components and PS you will feel a big difference. Make sure you drain the AC the "legal" way lol not venting it into the atmosphere =D.

lmao. i dont even know where to start about venting the A/C system. ill probaly have it drained by the honda dealership.

or if i can do it my self how do i do it?

haha nice i cant remember if i used the machine to exacuate the coolant or not, but i just snipped the lines at the firewall and yanked all that shit out haha but if its possible to take all the lines out without destroying it, i would recomend doing that.. i was just lazy

Yea the other way is venting it to the atmosphere =P Illegal but it works haha. Thats if you dont feel like extracting your shit.

lol. im sure i would have no porblem with letting the A/C into the air. how much would it cost to get it discharged by a pro?
