problem with new starter. help

okay this is the second time this happend to me with 2 different cars. when I install a new starter. when I start the car after I realease the key the starter has a little more whine into it, you know how when you start and turn the key to long you can hear the starter turning more. well thats what it sounds like. whats the deal.is this serious. and to all you haters out their. if you think this question is stupid then move on, theirs no such thing as a stupid question.

Why dont you let go when it starts??? Does it still make the sound after could be something else if it is. I do not see why you would want to hold the key longer than you need to to turn over a car.
