    Adjusting Throttle Cable

Okay, please don't flame for this.

anywho, I bought the Weapon R throttle rotor cable. After I installed it, i noticed IMMEDIATE throttle response. At least 50-75% more. My car felt TOTALLY different. My problem was that when my automatic shifted from 1st to 2nd, it was sounding like a 5 speed switches from 1st to 2nd but after shifting to second, it was like someone was letting the clutch burn/let go slow. Anywho, i decided to take it off to get my normal feel back.

Now, on topic. Since i like the feel of the better throttle response but don't like the way my auto shifts with the rotor, Is there i can adjust the throttle cable "slack" that the factory puts in there for "granny drivers?" If so, which side of the throttle do i adjust? If facing the engine from the front, is it the ride side towards the drivers side or the left of the rotor towards the passenger side? thanx a lot.

damn i forgot the measurment at which u tighten it at.

lets see if i can describe. you see the spot where the throttle body is...now that thing that the thrtotle cable is attached to (u can revv the engine right ther).

well right before that thing...u check the deflection of the cable...it should be pretty tight with like 1 or 2 mm of deflection if u press down on it...im not entirely certain.

since ur tranny is shifting funnie...here is what u do...get someone to push the gas in all the way...and then look in the engine and look down at the tranny where the throttle cable attaches too....does it go all the way up...and down? that cable adjusts the tranny in that if the throttle is open all the way..the tranny should in nsync with it.

maybe fizz can explain it better =) ill look in my book and talk tomorrow about it.

ya, I always wondered if that rotor would cause problems with the automatics because of the tranny sync cable....I know my last CAI even caused problems with that stupid thing....*sigh* Anyhow, I'll be interested to see where this goes... I've been interested in the throttle rotor for reaction time reasons for some time.

so this has always been an issue? I didn't even know auto's had a sync cable. If i could find out how to adjust this, i'll keep the rotor.

i got ur camera as my sig pic..huh?

here is what u can try....pull the throottle all the way open..then look down where the tranny is and look at the cable..is it fully up? or does it open all the way before the throttle by the throttle body opens fully....meaning are they nsync with eacother?
