Look at the fender well to see if the plastic is still held on with the stock clips or if it has screws or some other means of rigging. Alot of times if a car has been wrecked they don't use the stock clips to put the plastic back in there

Things to ask:
- last time timing belt job done > balancer shaft seal retainer installed??
- where was it serviced, if you have ability to go there for history
Things to check before driving it:
- motor oil condition & level
- tranny fluid condition & level (automatic)
- coolant condition & level
- brake fluid condition & level
- tire condition
- warm it up, let it idle and listen to motor, check around for anything awkward
- body rust, dings, dents, signs of accidents, etc.
Things to check while driving:
- brakes
- tranny function
- motor
- slop in suspension
- car pulling in a direction
- vibrations? where from?
Make a list in your head of the repairs needed, compare to the asking price and come a reasonable sale price based on work needed. Then, if you buy go and follow through with the critical fixes first, then fix the other things as you can. You should have a great car, last you a long time.
If balancer shaft seal retainer not installed, DO SO. Otherwise it may walk out anytime and there goes your motor, if you don't stop it in time.
