    Alternator or Starter!

Aite well I went and got a battery 2 days ago and now the car doesn't start, when you try to the radio will cut off! I have 2 alternators and I tried them both, the car starts when I get a jump. I did a wire tuck so I pulled off my fender to check out the wiring everything is good so I put the fender back on, going with the starter because I just don't see how both of the alternators could be bad and one is from my f22a1! What do you guys think

sounds like a ground problem. make sure ALL grounds are making full contact. if you already checked, check again.

yeah i doubt its the alternator, sounds like the starter maybe? most likely just a ground problem. You can test the alternator and the starter with a voltmeter to see if the are any good.

Alternator isn't needed for starting... just keeping the car running. If you start the car with a bad alternator, it will run on battery power alone... until the battery dies. If your new battery still has a charge, that's not the issue.

Check your grounds for sure. If they're properly attached, try cleaning the areas they're attached to.

Also, I know it sounds utterly idiotic, but I actually replaced my starter and battery (nearly $300 spent in one day!) because of a simple problem... my battery cables were coated in corrosion. They weren't conducting properly. I cleaned them off and the car started right up. Clean your cable connections and I bet it will start. Add some conductive grease and it should be good for a long time. (I need to do that myself... I lose my radio occasionally, and sometimes the car loses all power... damn corroded cable...)

Well I think i fixed the problem I added 2 new grounds because I didn't have on going from the engine to the frame and the other on going from the negitive cable to the frame had corrosion!
