I Was Driving My Car And Inside The Tranny The Car Got Stuck In Second Gear... The Shifter Inside The Car Was On Nuetral And As I Releaseed The Clutch The Car Would Move...i Drove It Like That Home And When I Was A Block Away It Released From Inside The Tranny.... Now I Dont Have Second Gear And When I Turn The Car On It Sounds Like Popcorn Is Poppin Inside The Treanny...is That The Cluth, Release Bearing , And Pressure Plate Or Is It Just The Tranny Messed Up ?

Last night at the airport my shifter (I have a 5spd btw), was stuck in 4th gear. I couldn't get it out of 4th. After awhile I got it into neutral, but it wouldnt travel along the neutral line track. It was stuck in far-right neutral, and would only go into 4th gear. After pounding on it for an hour it finally started moving freely. Why would it do this? Shift cables, tranny, or clutch? -

ok.. first of all i would take the cables off the tranny and see if you can manually shift it into gears and see what happens.. if that all checks out then it might be your release bearing is trashed or the pressure plate is collapsed. if the tranny doesn't shift then of course the tranny is gone. get a new a tranny !!

but yea you can do what other people say. Usually TO bearing going out is a loud squealling.
