can't drop thge whole thing, it gets stuck on the motor mount. and i can't brinng the thing up either.

go to sears and get their craftsman bolt out kit, its what you need to take off the stripped nuts. I took out that same downpipe nut with the kit. Its the only method that actually works without injuring ur self.

i had the same prob, tried drilling it out but couldnt. i ended up using a sawsall and cutting the downpipe so i could pull the header out from the top. but the only thing is i was removing it to replace it with the aftermarket header and downpipe i have now...
so maybe you could fix yur rod bearings and get a new header/downpipe. that is, if these other methods dont workout.
