timing belt proble???

    timing belt proble???

    so if i buy a F20A DOHC engine and it doesnt have a timing belt on it already..... how do i know if its in time i dont just wanna slip one on a have it bend a valve or anything?

    you bring it up to compression, make the the flywheel mark is on the little arrow and make sure the cams are aligned, the slip the timing belt on, tighten it and rotate the engine a couple times and make sure that everything is aligned

      also, you should look into a haynes or chiltons manual for a more detailed instructions along with pics

        i do have a haynes manual for my stock f22a1 SOHC but i didnt know if it was a different procedure for the DOHC engines
