    What's up wit my locks?

I wanna know why my locks won't work? I try to lock the doors wit the button, and only the passenger side will work..the driver's door lock won't. I try to flip that lever thing, and it closes half way, no more. So, I gotta lock my door wit the key. I would like to get a security wit remote entry system, but i need to know what this is, that needs fixing...any ideas? thanks..

    Much to learn you have.

I can't remember the exact way it goes, but after dissasembling these things too many times, I THINK you can't lock it unless the door is closed. The latch has to be pushed back (door closed) in order for the locking-indicator to be able to fall down.

How do I lock my car then smarty pants?

I'm assuming you have power door locks. I'm pretty sure the way you're supposed to lock the car is to close the door and use your key to lock the car. This then trips the sensor in the driver-side locking mechanism to lock all the other doors in the car. This is designed so you can't forget your keys.

    So...try this.

    1. Get in the car.
    2. Close the door.
    3. Play with unlocking/locking by the button.

If your driver side does not activate via power, you will need to either repair the wiring going to the door solenoid (if your window falls in, it usually rips the wiring off) or replace the motor. If you need to replace it, just use a junkyard replacement part.

I don't know if this answers your question...but Slateboy was on the right path with this...I'll just add a few things I do...

Honda designed out locks weird. With the driver's side door open, the master switch (the driver's switch) will lock every door but the drivers. To bypass this, hold the handle open (like you're opening the door) while you hit the lock button...this will allow you to lock all the doors including the drivers door...

This should not affect any form of remote entry...

this is true..I do need to lock my doors wit the key, but the locking will not work for all the doors, only my door. I gotta manually lock the other passenger door (i own a coupe) so, is in an actuator or what? I want to get a security system, so yeah...

To test the actuator, hop in the car, close the door, and play with the switch.

....and...your door actuator should work. Go do it. Seriously. Close the door and play with the switch. You'll smack yourself silly when you realize the door HAS TO BE CLOSED to lock it.

As for the actuator...junkyard. If you don't have access, I have one sitting around.

I know the door must be closed, but why then, when I am in the car, I hit the lock button, and it does'nt lock my door? Sometimes it locks the passenger door, other times it doesn't..If this is in perfect working order, then it is better off then I thought it would be! I will go get a security system asap!

I found out that my locks wouldn't actuate because my battery was weak. That was after I rebuilt all the door locks though.

ok, i tested it..I can, when both doors are closed, hit the lock button on my driver's door, and it lokcs nad unlocks the driver's door just fine. The passenger door will not lock. The passenger door lock button will also not lock teh driver's door or whatnot. Is it the motor in hte passenger door i need ot replace? How much?

Beats me...open it up...they're really simple to play with.

I know my passenger door wouldn't lock when my battery was low.

FWIW my door locks wouldn't work so I replaced the relay in the drivers door. Works great ever since.
