    valves?

I just did a A6 camshaft swap on my A4 and i did a valve adjustment too. Now my car ticks really loud when its cold, and it ticks louder then it used to when its hot. A mechanic helped do the job, he worked at Toyota for 5 years, so i dont think its a faulty job by us. Does anybody have an idea of wut it may be?

        adjust to the minimum...
so if the range is .009-.011
make it .009 and the engine has to be at least sitting for 24 hours

did you do it correctly and use the correct specs? did you do it in the correct firing order?

where did you measure? hopefully it was between the rocker arm and valve stem.

Yea i m going to do that. The only problem is that i m driving my car to Montreal on friday and back. I live in maryland, so thats like 1200 miles the whole weekend. Will my car be ok? Like is it something i need to do immediatly or can i wait till after my trip. Cuz the mechanics at the honda dealership said that ticking is normal on older accords. Dont know if thats true or not

its normal yes, only because things wear out over time. it should go away, or mostly go away after and adjustment.

and no, i woudlnt drive it with how loud you said they are.
