I want to take a stab in the dark and say the VSS on these accords are crap?

My speedometer comes and goes, and it is the sensor. Once it starts coming and going, the sport shift light starts flashing, CEL comes on and the cruise control wont work. I can see the sensor too it doesn't look that much of a PITA, where would you guys reccomend I get one? I want to buy one new, not gonna mess with used. Autozone has one for $90, and lee auto has one for $130.

      Let me know thanks

        They last about 100k....

on the stairs, she grabs my arm, says whats up,
where you been, is something wrong?
i try to just smile, and say everything’s fine.

I Just took the accord out for a spin to see how it runs after the timing belts and tuneup... and it runs great!

After about 5 mins of driving, the check engine light comes on, and sport shift light starts blinking. The speedo doesn't work... so it's safe to say the sensor is toast.

For 200000+ miles it sure runs smoooth gotta love hondas

George .. how could you say that? Mine lasted 230k .. and I abuse CC constantly ..
I got a rebuilt one from eBay for like 45 bucks .. these parts dont last forever!

We're seeing alotta VSS issues on the forum right now .. is it because we're all turning in
about the same mileage? If so, I'd say thats pretty consistant ..

Agreed. Parts are gonna wear out on any car throughout the years. The VSS doesnt surprise me even though I just found out that my problem is related to wiring. From the fuse to first connector i get 12V but when I get voltage at the plug im down to 5V so I got some major resistance somewhere. My friend is gonna help me run a new wire from the plug since he is more electrically inclined than me. Yea Im lazy to take off the loom but fuck it.

as to the sensor on ebay, were you completely satisfied and could you reccomend a seller? I will be buying one promptly if you let me know, I use ebay a lot.

                Thanks
