Estimated cost for a F22a4 rebuild?

Wondering if anyone knows the approximate cost of getting a f22a4 engine rebuilt? I won't be able to do this myself since I don't have time and would probably mess something up lol. I'd rather get it done right. Any help would be good, thanks.

Depends on what you are changing.
Could run couple hundred to over $1000.

Basic rebuild would include new gaskets, seals, rod/main bearing, piston rings, cylinder hone, and head or block resurfaced if needed.

Alright, thanks. I just wanted a good idea of what I'm going to be spending. I also just found this site http://www.rpmmachine.com/engine-reb...ts-honda.shtml think it'd be best to get the "Major Engine Kit" and just do it myself?

Has same Topline engine kits for cheaper.

If you have the downtime available and nothing better to do after work or on weekends, buy yourself a Haynes manual or Helms manual and learn!! Why not? You're doing a stock rebuild, no real aftermarket performance parts so you don't have to deal with tuning issues to get your engine running decent. Rebuild it and learn man, just take your time and do things right, use common sense and you'll learn a heck of alot.

Bumping this thread for future researchers.

I'm currently doing a stock rebuild.

this is what I'm in so far..

COMPLETE gasket set(every single gasket on the engine) from ebay: $52 shipped
ACL complete bearing set: $60 shipped
Head resurfaced, cleaned, 3 angle valve job, new seals: $120
              OEM Honda rings: $133 shipped

              I still have to buy

              engine oil/filter
              transmission oil
              assembly lube
              new o2 sensor
lots of cans of carb fluid(used for cleaning surfaces)
              spark plugs
              spark plugs wires
              cap/rotor
              and random other parts.

Total cost will be around $600 most likely.

If you had a shop do it, it would be closer to $1000.

I haven't totaled it all up, but my complete rebuild, which included bore and hone, new pistons and rods, all gaskets, and so on, was close to $1000. Also, don't forget the timing belt and water pump while you're in there

Mine were replaced not too long ago, so I'm just reusing them.

But yeah, you have to factor those in too.

I posted bearings and rings. I'm obviously not replacing the rods/pistons. There's no need to.
