New cb7.. already got problems

Ok I just picked up a new cb, and I still have my old one. This one has a SHITLOAD of miles so i figured it'd be perfect for a swap. But, there are a few other problems: alternator (which i'm not worried about because the motor i'm buying will have one with it). Also, the power steering makes a weird noise when you turn it, its kind of whiney. I'm not sure if the P/S pump is bad or what, but I found a bottle of NON-Honda Power steering fluid in the trunk..

So, my question is, is my rack and pinion fucked or what? I haven't really crawled under it to see what it looks like, but i'm scared to do so anyways.

I had a weird whining noise like a seal(the animal) whining.....my fluid was low so make sure your fluid is up to par. If not it could be that he used NON Honda fluid but i dont think its that serious with PS....i know the trannys are stubborn and only like Honda fluid but ps i never heard of having to have OEM fluid.

yah, i got that too, that ps moaning, it only happens when you turn, it your pump man, imma change mine out as soon as i get one, when u turn, ur pump works a bit harder thats y it moans, that mean they usually had it dry for a while. Mine was ok, then took the motor apart, let the ps sit for like 2-3 month, now got it back in car, it moans, like a whine! hehe, just swap here out!

yea mine was only when i turned...mostly left turns at about 25-30mph but once i topped off the fluid it hasnt made it since..that was april of 05.
