Car is being stupid

Theres some noise happening when i hit 1900 rpm.. it continues as i accelerate unitill 2500 rpm.... and then car jumps from 2500 rpm to 4000...
I tried so hard to get somewhere between 2500 and 4000, but i couldnt.. even in neutral. I have an automatic.. whats the deal?

it could be the egr ports.

while i could be mistaken, i dont think that the EGR ports are going to cause the transmission to slip from 2500-4000 rpm. not likely.
