Exaust heat shield removal?

I am debating wether to removal the stock exaust heat sheild,
First I think that
A. The exess heat from the headers will cause exessive heat damage
Then again the engine does look good without it
What should i do?

I removed mine and painted it a semi-gloss black. Turned out really well. But a lot of people take them off, only problem is if your running a short ram intake. It will draw in extra hot air. Your talking about the header heat shield right?

if your going to do all that, just get a REAL header. not an ebay one. something to make more power!

If you have a header then yeah it'll look good but if your rocking the stock manifold then it won't look good at all without the shield.
