speedometer is acting funny

ok i recharged my ac a few days ago and all is well, today i'm going to school and i notice my speedo is sittin at 40mph when i know im going atleast 55...i come to a complete stop and the speedo drops to like 10 and sits there, then after a few seconds drops down to like 3 but still not 0...and when i am going fast *atleast 65-70* the speedo will be at 40 but then spike to what i'm currently driving at then go back to 40....anyone got a clue what could be going on here? my tranny is shifting fine through all the gears and the tach still reads fine wth

Its the VSS I had the same problem with mine. it was going crazy when I stop it moves up and down and when cruising it drops to 0 when im going 60 mph and then it comes up to actual speed then drops again and S light starts blinking retardly. I gonna replace mine with new VSS to see if the problems goes away.

whats vss? and wheres it located, i havent even had a chance to look up what my problem is im fixin to leave

vehical speed sensor. it's on the back side of the tranny and is held in by 2 10mm bolts. later.
