    shifter gets stuck

When I come to a red light and put the car into neutral it will sometimes get stuck, not allowing me to put it into first. I have to release the clutch and push it back in (sometimes more than once) in order to get it into gear. Anyone know what might be happening?

My tranny has always been like that. It's called age. If you're not running Redline tranny fluid yet, take four and call me in the morning.

some way to fix this? you think fluid may be the culprit? I haven't changed tranny fluid in longggg time. Gonna get around to it. What do you mean by synchro related?

I have the same problem right now, im changing my fluid on friday so i way tell you how it goes. For now though, i put it in second, then first, this way you dont have to release the clutch. Do you have a third gear grind?

yeah man, same thing. Grinds in third. Its horrible. Unless I keep the revs over 4500 it grinds in third.

Like I said before, if you're complaining about your tranny and you don't have REDLINE transmission fluid, you need to do that first.

            No joke.

Well today i got me some redline from a local speed shop. Shifting is much smoother, and i can now put it in first gear without it getting stuck. However i decided to go from 5th to 3rd. I havent tried shifting hard to second yet though, i will find out tonight .

I'm gonna try that Redline tranny fluid on my car too. Is there only one type of Redline or are there different versions to choose from?

Get Redline MTL. There are also many kinds of oils there with different viscosity ratings. But get MTL.

Do they make this oil for auto tranny's? Or should I just stick with Honda ATF?

i've heard stories about redline, i would go GM Synchromesh. I was grinding 5th and that stuff eliminated that about 35 miles after I changed the fluid. also, shifting thorught the gears improved much smoother. go figure the stuff about 10 buck a quart here.

By the way, I have now changed my tranny fluid (to GM synchromesh) and I no longer have any troubles getting the car into gear. My 3rd gear grind persists (40 km later). I'll let you guys know if its gets fixed as well.
