    Noob VTEC question

Do you have to wait like a minute or two after you first start the car for the day for vtec to kick in? cause I started the car went out...tried to hit vtec and nothing. Waited a min or so after driving and boom vtec.

also I was on the highway going about 110 and when I got off..I tried to hit vtec and nothing. thoughts on that?

in order for vtec to ingage, motor has to be at a certain temperature, i think normal operating temperature, so a cold motor will not engage vtec. Also, the speed has to be above I think like 25-35mph, your oil pressures has to be right, and no check cel. If you got all 4 things mention right on, vtec should kick on..

Yep. Basic symptoms that will cause VTEC not to engage if everything is working properly : 1. Cold engine 2. Neutral or when clutch disengage and your revving 3. Oil. But most of them were covered.
