What engines came in various CB7 models?

I know that my 92LX had an F22A1 engine in it.

    I thought that:
    90-91 EX and SE = F22A4
    90-91 LX and DX = F22A1

    92-93 EX and SE = F22A6
    92-93 LX and DX = F22A1

    Am I right?

ok here is the deal with mine.

i have a 1991 ex. it has the f22a4 motor.

my uncle has a 1991 ex. it has the f22a1 motor.

i hope someone sheads some light on this.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

could be a canadian model ?
US 91 Accord EX is a 91 Accord EX-R in Canada so what would make a us EX-R ?

I thought the Canadian EX-R is the same as the US EX, and the Canadian EX was the same as the US LX... And you have no DX... Not sure though.

correct so maybe his uncle has a canadian ex, equivalent to the us lx and having the f22a1. that or a swap are the only possibilities I would think. and your engines are correct except the 91 se got the a6 also.

Okay, I updated the list. Keep in mind this is US centric, and I don't know what you maple leaves have in the great white north, except that your EX Wagons have heated mirrors, which makes me jealous, except that in the Pacific northwest, and more specifically in the Willamette valley, it freeze like four times a year, and barely ever snows.

thats trippy shit...like fizzbob said, mayb the production date has something to do with it, or the engine in ur uncle's car before ur uncle got it could have fucked up and they swapped in an lx/dx engine in it, there are a lot of possibilites. i want that 10 extra hp in my accord

I wonder if Honda may have used blocks stamped F22A1 for some of the F22A4 and A6 engines... The difference is in the manifolds mainly, and possibly in the head. It's still the same F series block for all of them as far as I know... Maybe that's the solution.
Still, if they were putting A1s, A4s, AND A6s into the EX at the same time, I don't think they would be allowed to do so legally. A 15-25hp difference is quite considerable, especially since the A1 had the potential to put out 115hp (10hp error margin.) Imagine getting an EX, expecting it to put out 140hp, and getting only 115! (RX-8 anyone?)
