    f22b1 help

i just did the swap into my 91 accord and it ran great until about a day or two ago. it now knocks and it is really annoying but the thing is it sounds like it is coming from the block not the valves. i have adjusted the valves 7 times in two weeks because i thought it was it. also it sounds like it is running on three cylinders but i have no power loss. i did a compression check in all cylinders and the numbers were 130,125,125,125. so i am at a total loss. if anyone has any idea please let me know.

Ok, What kind of compression gauge are you using because those numbers are below spec. It's good they are even and they might very well be within spec it just might be a poor gauge that isn't reading correctly. Are you sure you are checking compression correctly, you know at WOT.

About the knock... well I've seen allot of F22B1's including my own do the same thing (and then they blow up). Is your oil pressure light flickering at all?

i am using some ghetto ass gauge that is probably way out of date.the oil light is not on at all. the oil os staying the same and i even added lucas oil additive(thickens the oil) and it still is doing it.at idle you can hear but when you accelerate it gets louder. what should the specs be on the compression? also what do you mean they blow up?

The minimum compression per hole as stated by the OEM service manual is 135 psi. Nominal is 178psi and the max variation between holes is 28psi.

I've heard several F22B1's with the same noise you described and they all ended the same, rod knock on number 1, eventually, boooom. Does it sound like a knock sound down near the timeing belt cover?

I don't know what the hell it is about the F22B1 man but they all seem to be a huge hunk of shit, esspecially the OBD-1 verisons. I don't know why even since they are basically the same as other F series but for some reason the quality of them just sucks. They must have been built in a plant here i nthe US where the techs just didn't give a shit.

Maybe they're where using the American moto "Stirke!? Americans don't go on strike, if your unhappy with your job, you do your job half ass, that's the American way!".

talked to one of my mechanics at my work and he said the knock is coming from cylinder 2 or 3. they are going to adjust my valves again, do a compression check and a leak down test to see if they can figure the problem out. if it is knocking would that cause it to run on three cylinders?
