Guys, the engine in my 90 4dr is making a metallic tapping. It sounds like it might be the valves. I just had the timing belt replaced and the oil is changes regularly. The noise increases with rpms but it has not hurt performance or fuel econ. I used some Sea Foam to try to free the lifters (it goes in your oil), but that only worked for a couple of days. Any help?

Yea, I've noticed this too on both our high mileage Accords. Look at my sig. Now, to my knowledge peeps say it's cuz a valve adjustment is needed, which is prolly so. I have to get around to this yet. Also, while your under the valve cover take a look at condition your spark plug tube seals, valve guide seals & cam holder seals. I've heard from peeps here these tend to go around every 100,000 miles or so. Replace the valve cover gasket as well.
I'm gonna do all this on the 90 EX & assess the 91 SE.
Look under the "Technical" forum, I think someone posted about "valve adjustments."

My bad homeslice... The "valve adjustment instructions" are under the "DIY" sub-forum. It's done up by ACCLUDE91.
The guy is somewhat shady in terms of Accord knowledge, but for the most part he knows his shit.
LMAO!! I'm playin, I'm playin... He does know his shit yo, so do it up.
Acclude91: Much props yo, you're "OK" in my book....just OK
