Clutch or transmission problem?

Situation: I got a new clutch put in a couple months ago. Now the clutch slips intermittently. Sometimes it's good and other times it slips out of every gear. Sometimes it feels pretty good too though.

New slave cylinder put in not too long ago and I adjusted the clutch pedal a bit.

No funny noises or grinding ever from the tranny. (manual)

Question: Since it is intermittent, is this a clutch related problem like rear main seal leaking, pressure plate not right, etc...? OR is it my transmission going ?? ... What do you fellas think?

If you were changing out your clutch I would hope you at least looked at the rear main to see if it was leaking. Next does your clutch have a break in period some clutches do and if you dont do that break in you can fuck up the clutch and put improper wear on it something like that. If your feeling slippage its gonna be something related to your clutch or driving your trans doesnt "slip" especially if its a manual. What type of clutch kit did you buy.

The clutch was installed by my mechanic, not sure what kit was put in, but it wasn't like a racing clutch or anything. He checked the rear main seal too. Also not sure about the break in period but for the first month and a half there was no problems.

I think somehow you fucked up that clutch or maybe that clutch was as new as he said it was if your slippin like that. And as for that poppin out of gear thing its probably low on tranny oil. Cpmike told me abotu that one time and ive seen it first hand with my boy shonuff. He had that problem when we went to the races and his fluid was low on tranny oil and hi shit popped out of gear on its own. Man was he pissed after that he was fighting to ge tthe car back into gear.

The big thing is figuring out if it's for sure the clutch and NOT the tranny, because he will have to put in the labor hours for free if it's the clutch. And this morning he was saying that it's probably the tranny because if a clutch is messed it should slip all the time. So a manual tranny will not slip? What about transmission fluid, can that be a factor in slippage?

Manual transmissions don't slip. It's gear on gear.

No I definitely didn't fuck it up myself and my mechanic is solid, I have never had a problem with him getting cheap parts. (I hope he didn't start now, lol). Tranny fluid is topped up, not flushed though.

The fly wheel was resurfaced and he made sure it was the required thickness.

All seals (rear main) were checked for leaks when it was done.

I adjusted the pedal again last night. Made the pedal play much shorter (the clutch engages almost immediately once you start to take it off the floor.) So I'll see if that eliminates the slippage.

Let me know if you can think of any other possible causes/ solutions.

There are two adjustment screws you gotta follow the pedal up to find em. CP mike had a good picture of em but yea theres one on the rod that goes to the CMC and one on the side of it if I remember. Adjusting the pedal might help....When I changed my cmc my clutch catched high and i would slip like a mofo after adjustment it helped since I have it about halfway. But when your too low you will know because the car wont go into gear if not be really stiff.

*Update* I hope this update isn't too soon since it's been like one day since adjusting the clutch pedal...

Yea mine was very high now i adjusted it very low (might take it out a bit more though).

Drove a lot last night with two fat friends (heavy load) and no slippage at all. I hope that fixed it!

Hopefully that did lol I hate when my shit catches high I slip like a mofo because sometimes my foot would gently press down on the clutch pedal then it slip a bit damn POS but after I adjusted it it was all g. Hope that did solve it.
