This is more of a vent then anything. The engine is in, it didnt start promptly, but that was unterstandable as it has been sitting for a while. Idle is extremely rough, the entire car shakes, and the engine looks as if its going to bounce its way out of place. I am sure the timing is off terribly, but in all honesty I havnt a clue. The engine was never revved over 1k rpm in fear of it exploding. I dont even think the plugs were hooked up correctly, and, Im not sure if the blaster coil works or not. Of course the entire thing had to be re-wired, I am sure it was done right but... whatever. Doing the auto to 5 was also done, and there are a bunch of other demons in this car, like, the brake lights are always on, the guage cluster doesnt work, at all, clock doesnt work, heater / climate control doesnt work at all, blah blah blah. One bleeding thing after another. Im also using a chipped mrx ecu, which I dont know, may be causing problems. This car is nothing short of a mess right now, constructive comments welcome, as are suggestions with making it WORK.

what map are you using? I have a map that ive been working on for a few weeks and it runs pretty solid, idle is solid. only things i gota work on i would say are cold start up. it takes 2 cranks usually.
who did the swap?
you should start by seeing if your firing order is correct. then check for the timing. hopefully, timing marks were done to the flywheel. go rent or buy a timing gun, they shouldnt cost more than 20bux at sears. easy as hell to use.
go here:

look for DOHC F22B bin
i hope you have a chip burner.Last edited by d112crzy; 07-28-2006, 03:23 PM.

an mrx f22b dohc map he would know better than me.
zigenballz had a similar ecu in his car and said it ran alright.
a member on this board did the swap.
the engine ran well in the previous accord it was in, so timing marks shouldnt be an issue, the concern is that a new timing belt was put on, and that may or may not have been done correctly.
is fireing order the same as every other fseries engine on this thing? may as well ask as nothing else has been the same as its usdm 'little brother'.
i might be able to jack a timing gun from work for a while, they wont care
i think wireing may be a part of it, sadly, and i dont know even what to start to look for.
and by the way, your sig is awesome. pwned.

haha, thanks.
anyways, wiring is the same as your stock f22ax. nothing changed, unless your original harness was for an external coil, then you had to do something different there. what year is your car? do you know if an interal>external coil conversion was done(if you have 9293)?
but yea, it could be your cam timing thats off. you can DIY and adjust it, its not too hard.

subscribing, i'm pretty sure i told you to get an eprom programmer just in case it was the ecu. Make sure all the other gremlins are taken care of before tackling the ecu thoKnowledge is power...in EVERY sense of the word

You never told me to, but I believe I mentioned I had access to a zeltronix system / wideband / eprom and all that fun stuff. I may try running the stocker ecu just to see what happens, as the guy who had this before me did without issues.. I need to hook up the o2 sensor as well still. The f22a4 o2 bung in the exhaust is at the back of the engine, whereas the f22b simply isnt. Not all of the harnesses lined up, but I think I may be able to blame that on the fact the car is / was an auto. Time to play.Last edited by Dv8; 07-28-2006, 08:11 PM.

$5 says you got the firing order wrong.

f22b does work like not crap. lol. im glad i didnt bet you 5 dollars on that one. some trial and error got that. the valves need an adjustment but thats gonna get done this week hopefully. i plugged the stock ecu in, works like a charm. ill be tuning the p06 soon too. this engine is healthy, as the 20 feet of rubber i layed in front of my house proves that. pictures will come after i get everything cleaned up. thanks guys.
