okay heres where i step in. Okay you should remove it it gives you more clearance to actually get the transmission to come out of the car at an angle. This will work more to your benefit first you unbolt the front dogbone motormount in the front and then you take the bars out crossmember bar by unbolting them there are 4bolts total 2 each near the wheel hub assembly just follow the long metal arms that reach all the way to the right behind the front wheel rotors. Then while you loosened that up alread unbolt the bolts from under the car there should be 4 bolts total 2 on each side not too hard and they come out and crossmembers in your hand. Installation is reverse of removal.

I don't remember if you absolutely have to remove the crossmember bar thing but it's not hard. I did it when I swapped transmissions.

you should remove it, so it won't be such a hassle gettin the trans. back in. Cuz more than likely you'll just get pissed off tryin to work around it and end up droppin it out ne way. So just take it out, its not hard at all.

                  my two arms

ive had my tranny in and out a few times and never removed the brace but i would recomend doing it... because its a pain to have to hold the bar out of the way while trying to angle the tranny back up to meet the block... just my .02 good luck!!
